Day 137: Signs and Wonders
Mercury went retrograde today and that means zip to you unless you're dialed in astrologically speaking. Otherwise, we received the glad news that Barry Gale is entering the race for alderman in district 2, presently held by Mary Osborne and under challenge by Detric Leggett. Mr. Gale moved to Savannah ten years ago from Los Angeles, where he was Deputy District Attorney. I haven't heard his agenda, but would imagine that-- like me-- law and order is at the top of it. Regardless, I can't wait for Mr. Gale to weigh in on what goes on under the gold dome from a legal perspective.
Elsewhere, I also received news from a friend and colleague that he is giving careful consideration to entering the race in the 4th district, where Mary Ellen Sprague is vulnerable and already facing a challenge from attorney Will Cubbedge, who-- like me-- seeks to put a stop to institutional bribery.
Thus, voters will have real choices to make in the November election between entrenched incumbents and degreed professionals with legal experience. Btw, I also have a juris doctor degree, so there.
